Community, Coffee & Connection: International Women’s Day in Bondi

On Sunday morning in Bondi, the coastline filled with energy as runners gathered to celebrate International Women’s Day with movement, community and great coffee.

Hosted by illy in collaboration with Midnight Runners, the community run brought together runners, friends and locals for a relaxed run along one of Sydney’s most iconic coastal routes.

The meeting point for the morning was Ciao Bella Bondi, a long-time illy café and local favourite known by many for serving the best coffee in Bondi.

After the run, everyone returned to the café where the Ciao Bella team brewed espresso, cold brew and served our infamous illyCrema while runners gathered in the sunshine. With DJ Bella bringing the high-energy soundtrack to the morning, Ciao Bella quickly became a lively space for conversation, connection and celebration.

Over coffee, runners shared stories about the women who inspire them, mothers, sisters, friends, partners and mentors.  It was a fitting way to mark International Women’s Day.

At illy, we believe that some of the best conversations start over coffee, and this Bondi morning was a wonderful reminder of that.
